Organic In The City (6/12)

Posted by candace on May 28, 2007

Please join us for Organic in the City at Texas Discovery Gardens in Fair Park. Texas Discovery Gardens is a year-round urban oasis filled with natural wonders for visitors of all ages. Ten different themed areas include a butterfly habitat, native wildlife pond, scent garden, shade garden and heirloom garden. The first certified organic public gardens in the state, Texas Discovery Gardens features spectacular native and adapted plants grown using sustainable methods that conserve water and protect the environment.

Organic in the City is a monthly mixer designed to bring together individuals in a social environment interested in “Living Green”, current environmental issues, and naturopathic health. The event on Tuesday, June 12th, will be on Recycled Art. Come marvel at artwork designed from repurposed materials by international touring artist Vet. Vet will be sharing her beautiful work as well as discussing how you can use found objects to create your own recycled masterpiece.
Along with educational programming and workshops, this event will also include live music, local and organic beverages, cheeses and a bevy of organic treats to delight the senses.
