At this time, this process is a little inefficient due to where this site is hosted (on a WordPress server), but it’s TOTALLY worth it! Thanks for your patience and understanding.

Registration to this site is only required if you wish to “post” an initial topic which will be available for other readers to “comment.” You do not need to register if you only wish to comment on an existing post. Structurally, posts are parents of comments (children) and are above them in hierarchy. All are welcome to register to this site and will be compared against your Young Sierrans (YS) listserv email address for approval. Everyone who is approved will be given “author” rights (ability to edit, publish, delete their posts and upload files).

Steps for Registration:

1. Click the Login link located near the lower-right corner of our site under the Meta heading or go to www.wordpress.com.

2. Click the Get a free WordPress Account link.

3. Enter the following info:

a. Username

b. Email Address (email addr that you provided to the YS listserv)

c. Check that you agree to the Terms of Service

d. Check radio button Just a username, please

e. Click Next

4. An email will be sent to you from WP thanking you for signing up. It will contain a link which will activate your site account (link will contain the word “activiate”). Once you click the link you will have activated your account. WP will send another email with your username and password that confirms your account has been successfully set up. Once activated, you can manage your account profile (i.e., change your username and password). You’re almost done…

5. Here’s the hassle, but thankfully, it’s mostly Peter’s. Now that you’re registered with WP, you need to send Peter an email informing him that you’ve registered with WP and he needs to invite to join the YS site. Peter will look up your YS listserv email address in the general WP account database in order to invite you to the YS site. If you’ve registered with WP using an email address different than the one you use for YS communications, please let Peter know what it is. Once this step is complete, you’ll receive an email from WP informing you that you have been invited to the YS-DSC site as an author.
