Thanks to everyone who participated in the parade with the Dallas Sierra Club and helped gather recycling and spread the conservation message. We helped collect about ten cubic yards of loose recyclables, weighing about 1240 lbs (0.62 tons). Much of this was plastic, I was informed.
Trash from the parade equaled about 150 cu yds, weighing about 30K lbs (15 tons). Now we have metrics for use in our 2010 efforts!

Thanks to Robert Hutchins and his family for a wonderful guided tour and down home hospitality while we were at the Rehoboth Ranch in early May. In addition to picnicking and learning about sustainable ranching, tour participants helped out where we could by doing a little goat milking (and raw milk tasting – tasty!) and egg gathering. Thank goodness we didn’t have to wrestle that 500 lb. pig!

Matt took some great photos of our trip that captured many highlights of us canoeing down the Elm Fork section of the Trinity River. He mentioned that if anyone wants a copy on CD or just a particular picture, please email him (write Peter and he’ll send you Matt’s email address to request). All the shots Matt took are Hi-Res 10MP and can be blown up to 16″x20″ prints if you want to take a copy somewhere and have printed. Thanks Matt!!
