Three-time Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist Thomas Friedman, author of the best-selling book The World is Flat, will initiate the Maverick Speakers Series at The University of Texas at Arlington on Thursday, 9/11. The Maverick Speakers Series is an in-depth look at the people, ideas, actions and solutions that impact the world around us.
Friedman will discuss his newest book Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution and How It Can Revive America. He proposes that an ambitious national strategy which he calls “Geo-Greenism”is needed to save the planet from overheating and is also needed to make America healthier, richer, more innovative, more productive and more secure.
